Reflexology is a type of bodywork that focuses on applying pressure to the specific nerve zones in your feet. Unlike other foot massages that intend to mostly relieve tension in the feet themselves, reflexology is a far more in-depth science that aims to harmonize your entire body. According to reflexology, every part of the human body is mapped into your feet. Reflexology treatments have been found to be highly effective for conditions such as allergies, headaches, and depression.
Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don’t get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.
Cupping has been around for thousand of years and today it is offered in many different forms. There is wet cupping, dry cupping, needle cupping, fire cupping, massage cupping and silicone cupping. The technique I use is silicone cupping with massage.
The silicone cups have been found to reduce the marks that generally accompany cupping.
Silicone cupping massage can use various techniques or placed static on the muscles. Both the moving and static help by gently pulling on the connective tissue, promoting increase in blood and lymph flow. These techniques help engage the parasympathetic nervous system to create a calming, relax state. Cupping has many benefits including deeper tissue work and release of tight areas without discomfort, relieves inflammation and assists in removing toxins.
NOTE: Cupping can cause your skin to turn red to purple which can last from a few minutes, few hours to a few days. Cupping can leave rings/circles due to increase of blood to the surface.
Before and after the session you should hydrate, avoid exposure to hot or cold for several hours after the session and avoid strenuous activity after. Waiting for the next day to do vigorous activity gives the muscles time to reset into a lengthened, relaxed state.
Some contraindications are kidney disease, cardio vascular disease, circulatory disease, cancer, blood diseases, severe edema and infections
Thai massage is more energizing and rigorous than most other forms of massage therapy. It's also called Thai Yoga massage, because I use my hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like postures and stretches. My clients say Thai massage is like doing yoga without doing any of the work. No oil is applied, so you are fully dressed during the session. A single Thai massage session will help you release stress and relieve pain, and help you function more effectively at work and home.
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing for this session.
Pregnancy Massage is a form of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time in which a woman’s body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical, mental, and emotional changes. Using various techniques specifically for the new mother, Pregnancy Massage helps alleviate discomforts experienced throughout the pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the reduction of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, improved breathing and relaxation, and relief from uncomfortable digestive issues.
Hot Stone Therapy is a style of massage where heated stones are placed at specific sites on your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation in your muscles. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating.
Your skin will feel baby-soft and radiant after this gentle exfoliating treatment. The body polish is a creme-based exfoliant and aids in cell renewal and removal of dry skin areas. Then the prouduct is removed with hot towels and a rich smoothing body butter containing shea butter, jojoba, avacado, peach and sunflower oils is applied to help retain moisture.
This treatment helps to balance the client by treating the head, neck and face. The purpose is to help remove toxins from the face, tone muscles, increase circulation, and help prevent wrinkles. Aromatherapy and acupressure are used along with hot towels.
This is the same as the Thai Foot Massage for one hour with an additional 1/2 hour massage added for the back and neck to assist with any tightness in those areas and additional relaxation.
This is a treatment to help relax and release tension in your back. A body scrub helps to exfoliate, then a choice of Baltic Mud (detox), European Rose Clay (soften), or Firmi-Sea (re-mineralize) is applied, hot towels remove product, a little hot stone massage therapy, then to complete the treatment a twenty minute massage.
